This story is good, so far, however it suffers, in my humble opinion, with a little too much telling rather than showing, certainly from the three young women’s point of view. E.g. ‘..started to scream for mercy, to stop their branding..’ There’s absolutely nothing wrong here, but please bear in mind readers will enjoy a much more vivid description of things like this. They will enjoy reading exactly what was said and begged, rather than having you tell them. Historical inaccuracies will really irk some readers, so a little research will go a long way to avoid this. Personally, if this was an essay on England in the sixteenth century, I would be a whole lot more critical of how accurate it was, however it’s not, it’s an erotic story, and so my rating simply reflects my enjoyment of what I read. (8/10)

Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for your review, good and bad points, which I take very positively. That which I really regret was not to have been more rigourous on certain basics pertaining to the 18 Century (not 16 Century as you mentioned. Your comments have been noted and will be considered in Part 2. Many thanks.

Thought the story was a terrific start. The only thing I disliked was the reference to infection, something not understood at the time. The story telling is what counts and I look forward to more (9/10)

Too many historical inaccuracies. George III was king in 1797, not anyone named James. (Indeed, many of the details probably would have been more appropriate if the story had been set during Monmouth's Rebellion vs. James II.) As it is, the details of "Transportation" are off, and the treatment of transported criminals is a bit over the top. The dialogue could have been improved. If you want to write convincing period fiction, first do your homework. (5/10)

I agree with my highly experienced collegue Bocca once again. A very good start, let us see where the story goes from here and we may revise our rating in an upward direction. Good Start! (8/10)

As a historical BDSM story, this is one of the best shorter ones I have come across recently. Good character description, fast-paced plot, dialogue is bang-on (almost) for 1797 England and I cannot wait to hear the ping-ping as the smithy rivets their shackles on the miscreants' limbs. Hurry with Ch. 2. (8/10)

I love the subject matter, which offers considerable promise. The author has done well with laying the historical groundwork, and has a flair for creating a sinister atmosphere. But there are a couple of areas that need to be improved, and could still be addressed in the next installment. First, we are given very little information about the three young ladies. We know next to nothing at this point about either their personality or their looks. So far, at least, they are pretty much just pieces of meat. Secondly, this first installment is too rushed, I think. There is a trial, imprisonment, multiple rape, branding, and whipping - all in the space of 15kb. I'm not sure where the story is going, or how long it will be, or how important chapter 1 will be in the overall scheme of things, but surely those exciting events offered scope for much greater elaboration. It was a shame to pass over them so hurriedly. That said, there are flashes of promise here; I'll be back for at least one more installment -- and that is very often not the case (7/10)
