Enjoyed reading this tale. Entertaining complement to McKenna's _The Sand Pebbles_ and Malraux's _Man's Fate_. And yes, I also enjoyed reading the sex scenes. (10/10)

A crackling good historical adventure tale, with a lovely love story. Not your classic D/s, but more than enough hot eroticism to keep one fully engrossed as the adventure unfolds. Once again Lisa Jones proves to be a master (Mistress) story teller no matter what the genre. (10/10)

In reaction to the intro preceding the preambule: when a story is written as well as "A Tangled Web", who cares about historical accuracy; especially when the author never claims she's writing historical fact. Besides -Cantonese or Mandarin -it's all Chinese to me anyway... Like I said, "A Tangled Web" is again a masterstroke from La Jones' vivid imagination; one that once more keeps the reader glued to the screen while said reader -in this particular case, me- goes through a plethora of emotions, wonderment, exhilaration and marvel are but a handful of 'em. Someone hand me some superlatives cause I'm running short on them. Am only halfway through "A Tangled Web", but handing out a tenner nevertheless, if only for the sheer sense of adventure and suspense dished up in this shiny pearl of a story. JJ (10/10)

- Mr Jump, you are too kind, as always. You're a lot less than half way through. We've twelve chapters of tangling to go before Vera's fate is realised.

- Mmm... Twelve chapters you say?
Okay then. You do the tangling; I'll do the untangling. Maybe later, we'll dance a Tanglo... *wink* JJ
