Can't add much to what Michael Alexander already stated, except that a Faun, in Roman Empiric times, was a creature living in the forest, believed to be half man (the upper part) and half goat. Fauns were 'known' to lead lone travellers astray into the woods (Pan must be the most well-known, mesmerizing people with melodies from the flute named after him), while other stories spoke of Fauns at times helping people. Fianna is an old Irish name for a flock of young noblemen without land, who could be hired as mercenaries (a bit like the Japanese Ronin -masterless Samurai). As such, I feel that the names are quite adequately chosen... JJ (8/10)

This wasn't erotica. It was just plain old torture. *** Fianna's End by doctorgoff is a well written tale of a futuristic time where the hot blooded and evil masses are entertained by the sadistic and bloody gladiator fights in the arena. Throw in a bit of nudity, a lot of cruelty, and you've got a money winning scenario. In this story, the tale of Fianna's horrible torture as she moves toward death is just as brutal, visceral, and bloody as the gladiator fights of Rome. It felt just as real. * From a grammatical perspective, the story was well written. Sentence construction was a bit simplistic, but certainly not detrimental to the overall telling. Even nicer was the fact that I didn't come across any obvious errors. Much appreciated. * The level of knowledge of Roman gladiator culture possessed by the author is very prevalent. It was quite nice to have that flavor added to the story. * My only serious complaint was the lack of sexual torment inflicted on either Fauna or Fianna (what's up with the names?) Even torments that were targeted on sexual parts ended up being just painful, without a bit of sex, and the one scene near the end with the oral sex was delivered at a point where I couldn't get passed Fianna's condition to enjoy the scene. But all this is a content issue, and it didn't affect the rating. * In summary, a nice, but drawn out story, especially if you like a lot of slasher stuff. Yours Faithfully, Michael Alexander (www.michaelalexanderstories.com) (8/10)
