The sentence "My current circumstances had come about due to a misunderstanding with a shopkeeper over who owned the money in his safe." could have been written by Elmore Leonard --and should be used as opener for Quentin Tarantino's next movie-- and is worth a certified tenner all by itself.
Exemplary writing this is.

Agree with the others. A pleasure to read. Will look for more. (10/10)

This is the best crafted erotic short story I have read in some time. If Morlock isn't making money by selling his or her writing, well let's just say that I have paid for many a less well written novel scribbled out by a recognized authors. This story could be turned into a good movie! Really! (10/10)

Charming and high quality. About the only thin that made me wonder was the way that Susan seemed to suddenly adapt to being tormented by her rescuer exactly as she'd suffered. To be honest it felt like it needed a little bit more explanation as it sounds too much like an attempt to give a story a happy ending according to kink. Still, well written and fun enough that I wanted to follow it to the end to see what happened. (8/10)

Agree totally with Michael's review, so just re-read that. Very good story, in which the sex is completely incidental. If you're looking for a good jerk-off story, pass this one by, but if you're looking for something to actually read, you came to the right place. (9/10)

MORE ICING PLEASE!
***A long time ago I coined a little bit of a phrase. It was meant to sort of poke a little fun at all of those writers who don't write stories, they write journals. So and so did this, and then they did this, and then they did this. That's not plot. The phrase? "Porn without plot." And that is exactly what this story, the "Dream of the End" is NOT. Hell, this sucker has more plot than any of my stories, and I at least try not to make mine fuck fests. Author Morlock does a phenomenal job of building credible characters, creating descriptive scenes and sets, having an actual story line, complete with protagonist and antagonist. Sweet.
*** First of all, from a story perspective, I like the fact that this was told in first person. While I kind of flinched when a former US Special Forces soldier ends up as a two bit criminal, I quickly got past that and thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the story. Morlock does a pretty decent job in creating a sexually appealing novela where the sex is not grotesque, but actually serves a purpose within the narrative. It's not really a sex story. It's a story with sex in it. There's a difference. While I suspect that some readers here at the BDSM Library will be a little put off by the non-sex scenes, for real connoisseurs, this sort of story telling is the best.
*** Grammatically, the story was well written, but there were a host of minor errors, mostly wrong word choices (Spell Check never gets those, does it?) that didn't really distract from the story but were annoying none-the-less. Sentence structure was pretty good, with a competent use of complex sentence structure without overloading us with run on sentences or pedantic vocabulary choices.
*** My absolute favorite part was the series of days where Susan was bound in a different position and endured a rather different torment. I also really liked how it had affected her psyche. Rather than never wanting to see the dungeon again, at the end of the story, she is once again strapped down on the table while being tortured. No doubt she'll be let up again in an hour or so, but that's the sort of psychological damage that I like to see in a BDSM erotic fiction story. Total bullshit, but fun!
*** I have to admit, I almost gave this story an eight, but then I realized that was an unfair rating. The source of my discontent was "hey, I'm reading a BDSM erotic fiction. Why isn't there more torture and sex?" Yep. I know. I'm sick. But hey, everyone else here wants that too, right? And that is really my only beef with this story. I love the plot. I love the characters. But I wanted more being done to poor Susan. We spent to much time riding bicycles and exploring and sleeping in the barn and not enough time exploring the second of those "two paths". I guess I would have preferred more emphasis and detail on the torments of Susan and what she endured.
*** But that complaint is minor compared to everything going right with this story. So in summary, we've got a well told tale, balanced and interesting, that is much like a cake. It's worth eating the cake in order to have the icing. And while the cake is good, the icing is spectacular.
*** Yours Faithfully,
