Story stands out thanks to the very adequately written dialogue. Makes the story come both alive and come across as 'natural'. Nothing forced, nothing stilted. Add to that the fact that Casaubon seems to know how to string some sentences together to make 'em form a whole, and you've got a story which has its place among the better efforts of late, if not on the Library.
