Mystified? Not at all. For this here tale is a wonderfully crafted short, written with aplomb and adroitness and a serious tongue in bulging cheek. In a few broad strokes, Brewt manages to set the stage, the actors and the plot and takes us down a path well-travelled, but with such variety in language and such distinct characters that we, the target audience, can only applaud in delight. Well done! JJ (10/10)

Much better than "The Seventh Aria", but there doesn't seem to be any 'there' there. Having finished it, I had to wonder why Brewt wrote it. He can obviously write, but I wonder who his target audience is. There's no actual story, so he isn't after the literary crowd, and there's no stroke material, so he isn't trying to appeal to those who read with one hand. I'm mystified. (6/10)
