Take a less 'accomplished' author and "The Parker Gang" would have been just another of those quickie fuckfest stories, likely written by, hey, fat sweaty balding 50 year old weirdos, still living at mom's tucked away in an attic room...
Alice Parker makes writing smut an artform, by taking out most of the smut and replacing it with depictions of how people behave in some situations. I'm not gonna pretend this is literature, but thanks to the three-demensional characters laid out in front of us, we actually have something substancial to read, instead of going through the story with overly jerky motions of some limbs.
I'm certainly going to have a go at most of Miss Parker's other stories.
