This is quite a good "teaser" to a much longer story but, in my opinion, we needed more details on:-
1. How the new laws came into being.
2. Feelings about the new laws.
3. Fiona's feelings, it is all a bit bland.
4. We know the boy's father has three slaves, but where is the wife/mother? How does she fit in in the new family set up?
5. At least one chapter about her new life.
i look forward toreading more so i can upgrade my rating.

the story was ok, the age of the girl is a huge issue for me, i have a probem with stories dealing with 14-17 year olds, (5/10)

- I very much appriciate that some people do not like stories about minors. That is why I started the Synopsis: "Fiona, at 14" and, as if that was not enough, I had the very first line of the story read ..."my schooling ended the day I turned 14." So I have to ask you sincerely, if you do not want to read stories about minors, why would you ignore that obvious flagging? Do you feel it is fair to log on to a story you KNOW you won't like, and then write a negative review of it? I think you ought to take a good look inside and try to figure out why you read this sory after being warned twice. Or are you just a hypocrite who in his or her own heart likes to read such things, but won't admit it publicly? Bert Hart

- I read all stories of interest, i do not intentionaly leave a negative review on a story who's age is an issue to me, i have read other stories dealing with 14-17 year olds i have rated higher, my rating and reviews are based on what i like or dislike about a particulat story
It is called "Freedom Of Expression" i simply read a story and decide on it's virtues what i feel a story rating should be, the AGe in the story was NOT the reason for the rating, but rather a comment i adeed, if the story had invilved a 25 year old women, my rating would most likely have remained as it is inthis one with a 14 year old.
I hope this clarifies it for you, if not, please let me know what else you would like me to add
No offense was meant, i have rated other stories 4 or less and told the author they should not waste my time with their drivial, alot of time, especialy on this site, i have found the synopsis is far different from the story itself, the storyline sounds grea, the story itself is trash, others the storyline is trash, but the story itself is very good

- Also, there is no need to be hyper sensitive over 1 review, even Steven Speilberg has produced a bad movie or 2

I agree, its not a bad start although a little bit of history about the laws and society might be in order.
Try to get inside her head a little more during the rewrite. :) (7/10)
