This reminded me of those good ol' bedtime stories by the like of the brothers Grimm... Exquisitely written, intelligent, with quite a bit of witty humour. Oh, and I'll never look at a goldfish in the same way again... Great! JJ (10/10)

I'm giving it a 10 instead of a 9 to help balance that idiotic 1 rating Mobius rudely came up with. To call such a well crafted story a 1 on this site is the height of nonsense. This story by Rafu about a fish I will put into one of my aquariums. And like all fish in an aquarium, this one rates sizing it up more than just once. Might I believe that the fish is called Molly perhaps? (10/10)

I rather enjoyed this quirky little story of yours. There are a few minor typos/spellos, but nothing I couldn't easily skim over. To your credit you've switched between present tense first person, and the past tense third person story telling without missing a beat. I guess if I had to make a criticism it would be to say I find stories written in present tense a tad awkward to read, and possibly other readers may also. (8/10)

- My proof-reader is being punished as I write, poor sweet thing. She only started working for me last week, and has already tried to hand in her notice three times...
Interesting what you say about the present tense. I've always assumed it makes everything more vivid and immediate -- just the thing for a short story like this, which deals in action and real time. And also that it sounds modern, while a story written in the past tense somehow sounds a bit old-fashioned. But you might well be right.

I didn't get much from Rafu's earlier girl guide story so this came as an unexpected delight. Entertaining, sexy and written with style and charm. Regardless of personal taste I'm baffled how somebody could vote this a 1. (10/10)

- I don't understand this review, but it has nothing to do with the story.
