A good beginning. I don't usually read ghost stories, but I hope to read more of this one. (7/10)

The story does begin slowly, but begins so well that I don't mind. It does, however, make it difficult to rate. My rating of 8 is therefore tentative; I expect it will rise as I read later chapters. It's very well-written, and the atmosphere is practically as thick as those pea-soup fogs of yesteryear. Moreover, the author is obviously committed to craftsmanship: she has corrected a relatively minor geographical slip she made in the original version. All in all, I'm very much looking forward to the next installment. (8/10)

Wonderfully atmospheric, though in one spot certain slightly disturbing gargoyles are mentioned. Are there any other kind this side of Disney Land? (8/10)

This is absolutely dreamy! I swooned outright at, "'Hello?' The word sounds stupid, but 'begone foul shade' seems a bit inappropriate in 21st century London." Please, please, please write and post more! (9/10)

The only thing that kept me reading was the excellent prose and the temendous description of the heroine's surroundings. I have no idea where this is going and the synopsis doesn't really help. To date it has not the barest hint of sex, violence or those other delicious things that keep most of us that frequent this site reading. My rating in this case does not follow the guidelines that are provided. (4/10)

- On the story code definitions page for this web site you'll find the following: "slow: Where the sex doesn't occur in the first part of multipart story" If you're not fond of such stories, then don't read them.
