As Lakewood consistently condemns my scribbling outright, upon belatedly discovering his/her review of my story ‘Monarch of the Glen’, I turned to this, his/her highest rated story, to learn where I was going wrong. Lakewood has condemned two of my stories after reading less than the equivalent of the first A4 page. Having criticised that approach, I, unfortunately, felt compelled to read the whole script of ‘A Dog’s Life’. I confess I started out intending to dismiss the story no matter what I found. Although having initially sworn not to be provoked, I came after revenge for Lakewood’s insults. I ought to feel guilty at giving way to such a motivation. In the event, however, my conscience is untroubled. I can honestly condemn ‘A Dog’s Life’ on its own demerits. At least I thought I could until I discovered the clever trick it is intended to play. Reading ‘A Dog’s Life’ has at least disabused me of an illusion. It seems I had hitherto wrongly assumed that stories on this site were intended to be erotic. ‘A Dog’s Life’ could not titillate a hormone in a Viagra factory. At least, that was my initial conclusion. Then the underlying trick of the story dawned on me. ‘A Dog’s Life’ is in itself an act of sadism perpetrated on the unfortunate reader. It is an ‘attempted snuff’ story. Unfortunately, however, I am insufficient of a masochist to enjoy being nearly bored to death. EA (2/10)

Very nice. I love to see people get what they have coming snd she got her`s in spades. I love the flow of the story. It was very easy to follow. It had a beginnig, middle and end....for now anyway. I also liked the way you treated the practice of beastiality. Most people are quite vulgar or they just throw a scence in for effect which is usually unbelieveable anyway. I am definately looking forward to reading more of your work. (9/10)

This is a little gem of a story. The writing is top notch, some of the best I've seen on this site. Such phrases as "miscellaneous fluids" and a vocabulary that includes "snuffling" indicates a command of the language that is at the professional level. The story itself is simple, but it's pacing and smoothness makes it totally captivating. The behavior of Hamlet reminded me of that cartoon character Marmaduke. I was laughing too hard at the absurdity of it all to be even mildly offended over the fact that the dog was nailing a human being. The combination of humor and heat is exquisite. Whether or not the story will continue is moot, but hopefully the author will be posting again in the very near future. (10/10)
