By Roman law, if any slave murders his owner, all his slaves must be crucified in a public display. Accordingly, the innocent and beautiful young slave Annia now faces execution by the most horrible means ever devised. This is a carefully researched story of what the crucifixion process was really like. |

I'm not scoring it because I found it erotic in any way, but because I like reading about history and this was particularly well written. The character's ordeal was really well conveyed. (9/10)

A well written, well-researched, historically accurate story in almost every detail. Characters were well developed and played their roles quite believably. All in all a tragic tale with brutal as well as erotic overtones that reflect the reality of life in the Imperial Roman Era. (10/10)

I don't tend to post reviews simply because I believe each reader has the right to form their own opinion. However, this story, though not erotic (which is why I come to this site) was so well written it deserves recognition. I could empathize with the hapless victim as her life drained away, and I must admit that I walked away from her lifeless remains somewhat changed. I feel inside that I truly witnessed a tragic event. Excellent work - I wonder if there may be a better venue to properly exhibit your art. (9/10)

This is really exceptional writing, lavished, unfortunately, (from my point of view) on a scene of almost unbearable brutality. The premise (that all the slaves of a master murdered by a slave were to be crucified)seems historically unlikely to me, for economic reasons, if nothing else -- it kind of puts the surviving members of the family in a hole. But just because I'm not familiar with this 'custom'doesn't mean that it didn't happen. I'd like to see some substantiation of that, though. Once again, though, the writing is superb, even if the story defies credibility in some respects. (9/10)

A fine story that deserves the attention of those readers so interested. Some may find that the inclusion of other "slaves" in the execution event a distraction, but the author continues to maintain focus on the chief protagonist. (8/10)

Very well written!. For amateurs of crucifixion there are few stories that can be favourably compared with this one. Good plot, characters that live real human emotions and very detailed action. The last four lines, read after the story comes to an end are pure poetry. Bravo! (10/10)

Really good writing! One of the very few tens I ever give out but this writing really deserves it. Usually I can always suggest some improvement to a story, but in this case I cannot. I particularly enjoyed the little twist of a subtle mercy rendered at the end. Congratulations! (10/10)
