This successful approach has been developed from my own frustrating experiences as a subbie trying to find a Dom closeby in my own small rural town.

Before I read this post some 17 months back, I was 4 years in the lifestyle, travling godawful distances trying to have relationships with dominants who had more submissives then they had time for me. I read this post and had my first draft written up within hours and went to work corresponding with a local very nice vanilla man who I know. That seemed to work out for about a month before he decided this isn't his thing. And I almost immediately met another Man on a vanilla site, three miles from me. So very caring, totally monagamous and devoted, and too good to be true, He read my owners manual and took to this lifestyle like a Bird to the air! Mixed blessing... Now together a year, collared for eight months and ENGAGED TO BE MARRIED AS OF LAST NIGHT! I just had to take time out from the most exciting and happiest moments my life has known and thank Mike Shapiro for taking time to write this article.
Also, over the last year I have had this urge to tar and feather alex and cleo for their criticisim. Lower case is appropriate as a personal preferance in the lifestyle as is the use of the term "it". I personally prefer to use upper case and to exonerate my Dom with upper case when referring to Him as well. And if You are in this lifestyle you would both do well to respect personal preferances and customs of others. And read before you criticize. (10/10)

Well this really isn’t a story, is it?
-
To be absolutely honest, I didn’t find any glaring mistakes, an ‘it’ that should have been’ it’s’ and maybe a few of other bits I was unsure of, but nothing blatantly obvious. There is the issue of sentences beginning in lower case. Well that's a no-no in most writing, so don't do it here. I also found the use of ‘it’ instead of he or she jarring.
-
“Realistically, these are natural traits that exist unmanifested in many people.” (By the way here is a word I was unsure of – unmanifested?) Yes, much of what you wrote made perfect sense to me. Clearly you have passion for the lifestyle only I would love to see more of that in your writing. I guess as it is its just a little too ‘clinical’. To me it felt like a draft of something that could really sizzle off the screen, but its just not quite there - yet.
-
I’ve given this a ‘five’ because I feel it does have promise, and the author really could and certainly should try to expand and improve. (5/10)

I'm going to be harsh here.
This is not a story.
First two sentences, the grammar, the sentence structure.. should I go on? Since when do sentences begin with lower case?
I just didn't read any further, sorry, but when something is poorly written, with absolutely no 'story' element at all, there is no purpose.
This whole entry would have been more appropriate, not in a story forum but posted on a 'forum' - after the grammatical errors were amended.

hey!
re: "First two sentences, the grammar,... I just didn't read any further,..."
please let me thank you for taking the trouble to write a review when you didn't even read the thing.
if you had read the thing beyond two sentences, i would welcome your input more graciously.
hopefully, the next time you work hard on something, people will give you a fair chance as well.
by the way, for your future information, within the lifestyle, it is frequently a custom for a subbmissive to write in lower case unless addressing or referring to a Dom or a Master or a Mistress.
best wishes,
