Apologies for the very late review - I read this several years ago, and as I've re-read it so many times, I was sure that at some point I had reviewed it. I was reminded of it by another story I just came across, and well, here it is. OK - this is a very special story that I think anybody into BDSM should read, even though parts of it might turn them off. The psychological interplay between the characters expresses as well as anything the intensity of passion and self-discovery in any relationship, but particularly that of a BDSM relationship. I don't feel it's a Sadean story at its heart (although I could be convinced otherwise) - there is no selfishness here on the part of the 'top'. Anyway, I don't want to risk making this review longer than the story, but if you're at this site, chances are, you need to read this. (10/10)

- Your review is most welcome, and you are absolutely correct that it is not a slash and burn story. The title says it all! Despite the successes I've had with other efforts, this will always be my favorite for reasons not worth mentioning here.

This is my favorite story on this site. I can read it again and again. I really like your style of extreme/consensual stories. The torture scenes are really brilliant and blow her mind and body. But what makes this story so great and even better than your other stories are the intro and the ending. Though I would like that she remembers the tortures she went through I think it would turn it into a worse story. Because this is Beverly's story and that's the way things happened. For example that doesn't mean that I want Juliette to experience the same: I would be very pleased if you continue her story and find an ending - good or bad - for her. (10/10)

- Your cogent review and generous rating are very much appreciated. Of all the stories I ever wrote, this was the most challenging to do and do right. As you have probably noticed, you either love it or hate it, there is no in between. I am happy that you understood why the story had to end as it did. As for Juliette, that's a horse of a different color. Her fate has yet to be determined, but under no circumstances will it be a rewrite of True Love, which can only be done once. By the way, the genesis for True Love came from a picture of a nude Australian lady with very short hair casually looking off into space. She had no name, but she became the model for Beverly.

Amazingly great read! Extreme, intense, this IS a great fantasy. The pain Beverly went through ... what SHE wanted as I read your book. The love between the two was totally amazing also. I firmly believe that your book has showed many extremes, even the extreme of love ... excellent! (10/10)

- I am extremely happy that you saw in this story the same thing that I was trying to create. It is truly about love, true love! I fear that many people misjudged the story because they couldn't get beyond the extreme nature of Beverly's self induced ordeal.

I had a very hard time deciding between '7' and '8'. I finally settled on '7' because I would never recommend this story to anyone. It started well and finished better and was professional in between. I know the author prizes originality and there is a great deal of original content here. This is a much better story than his 'spoof's have been. For the middle chapters, I have to echo annasherwood, below. What bothered me most was the sheer unbelievability of her stay in section zero. Still, to the current master of 'over-the-top', kudos. (7/10)

- Your review is much appreciated. I must however take the position that the level zero ordeal was absolutely necessary to make the beginning connect properly with the ending. As for your reluctance to recommend this to anyone, that is for you to decide. I think it was very clear in the synopsis that this was not for everyone.

What happened to harsh punishments such as paddlings to to the blood, anal sex to the blood and enemas that do not harm but punish? This is way over the top!! I am a fan of Marquis de Sade ass methods but in my opinion I was turned off by inhumanity of this story. However I will give you credit for the effort you obviously put into this tale. (4/10)

- You seem to have missed the point of the story entirely. This is not some exercise in sadism as some people think. As for paddling and that sort of nonsense, that would not fit at all into the framework of this tale. I do however appreciate the fact that you are that one in 3000 readers who bothered to express any opinion at all on this effort, and believe me, this one was an effort to produce.

i honestly didn't think it could be done, but i was numbed by all the violence inflicted on beverly...i think it was the past tense, the sense of someone else telling the story second-hand that made the impact less and actually bored me...i kept wanting to skip to the action, but just couldn't get there...that being said, the writing is top-notch; the criticisms i've made are a personal opinion---this form may work well for others! A truly Sadean fantasy tale. I have pondered long and hard, waiting for a number of chapters before reviewing this fable. The scientific prinicples of this story are physiologically impossible, something that hung me up. Finally, a wave of acceptance rolled over me. This is a fantasy and what business do I have nitpicking an epic fantasy over medical details! This serial reads as if half way through writing the "Beauty" trilogy, Anne Rice became totally possessed by the Marquise de Sade. I wouldn't expect a practical knowledge of physiology out of either one of them, why should I expect it of lex! So gentle reader, what ever your level of knowledge of matters medical, furgedaboutid. Kick back, release your inhibitions and enjoy the purest psychosexual torture marathon on this site. (10/10)

- I do appreciate your most positive review. On the matter of Beverly's ability to withstand the various and sundry torments described here, there can be no doubt that many do push the envelope of credibility, especially in the opening chapters. Stay tuned for even stranger developments as the story builds to its unhappy ending.

I enjoyed this story very much! The heroine was quite astonishing in her desire to achieve such levels of pain. I admire her and the person who gave her life from his vivid imagination. My stories are quite similar, though none are posted here. You say there is more coming? I say Great, bring it on ... (9/10)

The writting skills are ok, but a first-hand deposition instead, with more details and slower pace would be far better. As it is, it does not make it at all. And last point, the introduction should be quicker about the narrator's identity. (5/10)

- I'm having a great deal of difficulty understanding your critique. What do you mean by a deposition? What doesn't make it at all? Finally I strongly disagree with your comment concerning when the narrator was introduced. Why would anyone want to hear his story unless they had at least met Beverly?
I do appreciate the fact that you did read the story and spent some time producing your review. I just wish I were able to understand your comments a little better.

- Your kind review is greatly appreciated. Yes, it is heavy; it is what it is. Everything does run to the extreme, that's the direction that is most comfortable for me at this point. Even my spoofs are considered to be heavy; such is life.
I am most delighted at your compliment about my writing, which does not come easy for me. Thank you very much.
